~Rambling~

Well first it was my comp that had a virus now it's me!! Although I don't feel well as I lay on my couch I look around and feel the need for change, hmmmmm what can I do different, I can't decide on my style right now, but diffently want something different, do you all do this, as soon as I get things done, I want something different(LeAnn knows what I'm talking about), LOL, I feel the need for color, reds, yellows ya know like Cherry Hill Cottage, love her house and then I see the paired down farmhouse style with the light colors like silver sage and linen and I like that, I know they are complete opposite styles, I actually went and bought a can of Silver Sage paint and havent used it yet, I keep walking around with the paint chip in hand, I don't know maybe it's this head cold?? Now that I've rambled on about me, I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and I hope I'll be back soon with a more interesting post (; What styles do you like right now??

  3. I hope that you are feeling better soon. I like so many different styles too. I have a country victorian living room, a pinky peach, shabby chic den,and a yellow and red french country kitchen. I've heard before that you are suppose to let the rooms 'flow' together. Oh well...I like too many decorating styles to do that. I still have several rooms to do. I plan on doing the guest bedroom and bath with a romantic beach style. What a combination! LOL It's MY cottage and I will decorate it like I want to! LOL

Your home is very beautiful! I love everything about it.

    Hugs,
    Lee Laurie

  5. Oh boy. That stinks being sick. Chin up young lady. It only last a while! Hope you are up and about soon. As far as my style, hmmmm what I would like or what I have to have for now? What I'd like: Shabby Chic from top to bottom. What I have: husband tools, teenage boys, 8 year old messes, 2 shedding husky dogs kind of style. I am very slowly bringing in a change. For I am the Queen of this castle and if I ain't happy, for sure ain't no body happy!

  7. Feel better soon!! Color, just add it in items, blankets, dishes, scatter rugs and such. I'm going all out on white for the large pieces and then i'll add touches and punches from there.

  9. Hi...I'm Jan, and I follow your blog everyday...a blog stalker of sorts. Anyway, I just had to tell you that your home, top to bottom, back to front, and everything in between, is a perfect picture of my fantasy home. I am terminally ill and will never have more than I have now, which I'm very pleased to have, but it's been a dream come true to see my vision coming true on the pages of your blog. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

  12. I'm with Lee Laurie. Every single room in my house has been done in a different style. I love home decor and fashion and I just can't choose one style....besides, I think people like to come and visit and then leave with a new name they picked for each room. You know...."Oh I think I left that in the Victorian room, or you might find I left something in the Cottage bathroom for you..." LOL!

  14. I am the same way. There are two styles that I love. I like the shabby chic sytle which consists of white and light blue but I also love farmhouse/country style with reds and greens. I decided Im doing both. People might think Im crazy but there is no reason you should have to chose when you like so many things. My living room is shabby chic but my kitchen nook is going to have chickens and red/green/yellow plates. You dont have to pick one or the other. Use everything that makes you happy:)

  15. I do the same thing too! Well, maybe not as drastic as what you're thinking. I seem to be going back and forth now between wanting less vintage and a cleaner beach cottage look.

  16. I wouldn't want to change my style but the new softer colors (like you described) are definitely catching my eye.

  17. The sign of a true decorator, is that when she's under the weather and feeling sick, she is still decorating and mulling it all over in her head! You are a gem! I like the muted styles, but I am a color girl. Can't help it. Guess I always will be.

  18. Hi Kelly,
I am sorry you are not feeling well. Yes I do understand!! I have changed so many times but I am finally settled (for now...LOL)! I have a suggestion for you...go on HGTV and take the color quiz. I did and it nailed me right on!! Just go and take it and let me know what you think. I hope you feel better soon so you can move that couch!!!

    Hugs,
    LeAnn:)

  19. hi kelly,

sorry to hear you're not feeling well. i hope the boys are all waiting on you!

my style keeps changing around but it's pretty grounded in cottage so little accessories make the differences from shabby to beachy.

your white couch gives you a great backdrop to play around with - just pillows and flowers can bring in pops of color without a big re-do. but you know that cuz you are a brilliant decorator and 2x cottage queen!

    feel better!

  20. Every woman needs several houses to satisfy all her decorating needs (O: A log cabin, a beach cottage, a downtown condo...LOL Or maybe just a can of silver sage paint.

  21. I hope you feel better very soon!

I do the same thing with decorating. The problem is that I like so many styles so my head gets turned all around. That's why I do everything on a budget, especially window treatments. Because in 6 months they'll probably be in a bin in the basement. lol

  23. I've missed the past two days at work due to a cold. I've been laying around watching hubby work on my honey do list. Today he power washed the house and after work tomorrow I'm going to go pick up some paint for the shutters. Picking paint colors is major!!!

  26. My first thought is, 'are you kidding me?' Your home is sooooo beautiful, how could you ever change a thing? But, then I have to confess, I do the same thing. I have not even finished changing my livingroom/kitchen to a pretty pastel cottage style, and I find myself thinking of other colors, etc. But, I'm sticking to my cottage style, that's still my fave.

Hi there! Hope you are feeling better. I know I feel better now that I know there are other people out there like me who can't make up their minds how they want to decorate a room. I keep changing my mind too, and I thought it was because of menopause! lol
