Ok maybe I do copy but doesnt everyone, right, I stopped by The Lettered Cottage to see what Layla(you can click in the link on my sidebar) was up to and she had a picture of a ladies house that she used for inspiration for a customer and I loved the draw pulls that she did on her buffet so I tried it on mine, what do u think? I had an old shower curtain that I was going to get rid of and I ripped it up and made the draw pulls , it's cute for a change.
Just thought I would show ya my living rm with my new rug from Shabby Chic(Target) it has the same robins egg blue in it as my hutch, which I have moved back to the living rm, my family thinks I have lost my mind, LOL! I have a funny story to tell ya, I feel famous, the other day I was in the store and this girl and I were talking and then she looked at me kind of funny and said you look so familiar?? Then she said omg Jennifer The Old Painted Cottage your house was on there, omg I loved your house, do you give house tours?? I laughed and I think my face turned red I was so flattered though, how cool is that! It's the first time it's happened to me and she also gave me her number and said if I wanted to sell anything she would be interested, I didn't ask her if she read my blog or if she just looks at Jennifers, I didn't want to burst my own bubble, LOL but Rebecca if your reading this, thanks so much you made my day, month, year!!
You may have a small old fashioned kitchen, sugar, but it is the loveliest I've ever seen! I lust every time I see it. But the drawer idea is fantastic also. I copy some people also with their ideas for my home. They give me inspiration and clever ideas from that inspire me to do OTHER things to my home. Come and visit when you get a chance. I'm simply loving your home, chickee!

How fun to be recognized!! I think that is so neat!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new color, you did a fabulous job on it! Who can blame you for copying, the color looks great in your house. You have been inspiring me around here, just recently I added a couple floral pictures that I'm not sure I would have picked prior to seeing the floral touches in your home.

I am loving your new color!!! It is the perfect backdrop for all of your other treasures!!! The whole room is gorgeous!!! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!!
XOXO

Your home is always so beautiful! I love the new color too. I get so many ideas from you. That drawer pull idea is so neat. I might have to copy it and use that idea somewhere. I like that we can all get ideas from each other! So fun!

ReplyDeleteKelly, you are so ambitious. I have been in this house for five years now and still don't even have the bedrooms painted and here you are redoing yours. Looks good, but then again I love everything you do.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being recognized!

Sue
Your new paint color looks wonderful. I wouldn't worry about copying people. First of all, I'm sure there are alot out there that are so inspired by your beautiful home that they copy some of your ideas too. Not only that, it's hard not to be inspired by all the beautiful blog pictures out there! Hey, that's what sharing is for! :)
ReplyDeleteAgain, your new paint looks great!

Jennifer
Hi Kelly....Love the new color on the walls! I need a new neutral color for my living room too. I will have to check out a paint sample. The drawer pulls are very unique...kind of cute!~Hugs,Patti
ReplyDeleteOh Kelly, Your just picking up some of their liking into your own space which makes it your very own style that we all do from any inspiration. Your place looks wonderful even though your still trying to discover what it is you really like, I think for most of us we're always trying to achieve a look that is satisfying, but it never ends does it? Decorating as much as we like to do doesn't have an ending at least for some of us. It kinda reminds me of shoes... it just keep going.
ReplyDeleteYour new paint color look fantastic!
Love the new colour ... and as they say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"
ReplyDeleteThe new colour looks great. I love changing things all the time. My husband begs with me to stop, but I told him I will still be doing this when we are in a retirement home so shut up and put up with it hahaha!!! How funny you were recognised! Amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI love your new color! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandra

ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you're a big celeb now! Don't let it go to your head. hehe!

Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteDo you like your new color. I loved the silver sage but hey if it wasn't you, it wasn't you. Did you sell a lot of your pink?
Hugs,
LeAnn:)

ReplyDeleteLike the paint color! The drawer pulls are very cute! How creative that you used the shower curtain!
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Allison
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely wonderful!. I too loved the color Jennifer used in her home, so much in fact that I wrote her a while back and told her, I used the same color in my bedroom.
I have not posted it yet, since I am waiting for the closet to be completed that we are having built for the room, I hope the closet will be completed and installed next week.
Some colors are just so soothing and neutral and RH Canvas Natural is just that. Jeniffer inspired both of us to create a room that is perfect for us.
Love your holloween decorations.
Take care and enjoy your day,
Elizabeth
Yep..I admit it too~I copy and it is mostly you that I copy~lol.
ReplyDeleteRan to Kmart to buy that bed skirt...ended up buying curtains for my kitchen(Country Living) and the sheets too!!! Needless to say..Kmart shopping cost me $200 :
Like your new Neutral look but I still love how you mixed the pastels so beautifully too.
Now....I may have to run and hunt for that Shabby chic rug.
It looks beautiful Kelly and I would guess your guys like it too. Now all of us copy cats will have to fess up. I have been carrying those paint chips in my purse since Jennifer's big reveal. Guess I will have to get on board this train and ride it with you girls because I just love it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new space and thanks for the inspiration my friend.
Hugs

Stunning seems too small a word to use!All the best,Chrissy
ReplyDeleteIts not copying, its a sharing of ideas and thats whats great about the internet, we get to visit others and enjoy what they are doing with their homes! Yours looks really lovely by the way. Love all your bargains from Target, we do have Target stores here in Australia too but they just dont seem to carry the really nice stock you have over there :0( Maybe I should go back and double check lol.
ReplyDeleteALicia
I love the new paint color, Kelly...I think I'm going to copy you and Jennifer! I have 3 yellow swatches on my kitchen wall, but they're too "yellow"...this one looks perfect, and so warm. I love your kitchen, and am wondering if I have the courage to paint the cabinet under the sink...that is so unique and stunning. Love your house, all of it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Mary
I really like your new look. It is so soothing. But then again I am a White lover. Maybe it is good that you don't really know yet what you like, so that it doesn't get cluttered. It looks so nice as is. You find the treasures at Target...I never can find what you find!
ReplyDeleteour own kelly, a celebrity! how fun! that must have made your day.
ReplyDeletewell, that's the great thing about paint. it can be painted over and over and over. and hey -- we all inspire each other here, borrowing ideas and making them our own.
lovely as always!
see you on TMZ!
xo
Morning Kelly! It's not called copying it's called "being inspired"!lol No matter what you call it it looks beautiful as always! Sincerely, Jeannette (and yes we all do the same thing which is why I'm always confused as to what look to "copy"!)lol
ReplyDeleteyou are now famous!....yeah!
ReplyDeleteThe new color is nice.
No matter what you do, your house
always looks darling!
Love the colour. Your room looks amazing. How did you do your balls?
ReplyDeletedianne
Your home is just lovely! Your original blue looks an awful lot like the blue I currently have on my walls. What a perfect solution to "borrow" the paint color from Old Painted Cottage. It looks great!
