So I couldn't stand it any longer I went back to Target and bought the new RA Shabby Chic bedding (; Its is a natural linen. I love it, the only problem is that it comes in a beautiful robins egg blue and I couldn't decide which one I wanted but ended up getting the natural! Maybe I can save up some more money and get the other one. They haven't put all the new stuff out and I am hoping they have a robins egg blue pillow in the linen, I think that would look pretty with it.

I am so excited, has anyone seen the new bedding from RA at Target yet? No I don't have it yet but I will today! It is a linen duvet and it comes in a natural and a very light robins egg blueish color!! Its very pretty but the picture they have on line doesnt do it justice so you will have to go check it out for yourselves, have a great day (;

Welcome Fall

My burlap inspired curtains are from Kmart they are the Country Living brand, they were on sale and I bought all that I could find, I thought they were really cute for Fall, but wish I could find some more so I could put them in my kitchen. Don't mind my coffee table, it's a work in progress (;

I have my buffet by my front door which is in my family room. You may remember the piece above it, it used to be pink and it was above my fireplace a long time ago. I made the burlap "Fall" banner and added some black hooks to hang it from.

My vintage scale with some pears and some homemade honey from N.C. thanks Mom!

I bought these flower pictures at Marshall's, they look vintage and love them! Did you notice my doors in the picture below?? I was inspired by Kim at The Twice Remembered Cottage, she painted her door this color and I loved it so I thought I would try it, they are a dark brown almost black color, love them too! I have been a really bad blogger lately and I'm hoping you all haven't forgotten about me, take care and enjoy!!

Some Changes

I turned my dining rm area into a sitting rm, this time I just used my love seat and a couple of chairs isntead of both couches. I moved my island that seperated my kitchen from the dining rm and put it in my laundry rm, are you still following me lol, yeah my husband thinks I'm crazy too but oh well a girl has got to have fun and I love and have to have a change! Anyways I can't show you pic's of my dining table because I have it full of stuff and I'm not finished in there yet but I wanted you to see what I accomplished so far, I can't decide if I want to use my farm table that I have in here now or my round table that I have down in the bunkhouse, decisions decisions, what do you think?? Remember my round table is painted white and I haven't painted my new cane back chairs yet cause it is just so hot. I will be back soon to show ya the rest!!

My Camper

A before picture.

Just thought I would show some photos of the camper I redid with the help of my family! It was so ugly when we started it was brown and orange and gold. We added beadboard paneling painted white, my Mom made me white denim slipcovers for the seats and some of them we used a Quilt that I purchased at Marshall's. She also made some new curtains for me too!! Enjoy (; Because some of you asked the camper is 18ft and it is I believe a 1976 model.

I wish that I knew why my posts pictures were loading crazy and would go in the order I put the pic's in........ and I wish that I would have taken my chalkboard off the wall before I would have tried to tack a couple of nails into the edges ............. so that I could hang my wish banner to it...........it came crashing down............. oh and I wish I had and "H" so that my banner actually said "WISH" not "WIS"..........................LOL!!

Where is Oyster Pond??

I wish I knew where it was because I would have to take a road trip to see it, but I do know that it must be a beautiful place! I found this pretty painting at Goodwill and on the back of it it says Oyster pond woods hole in Spring, someone loved it enough to paint it and the colors are just perfect especially next to the new color of my tv armoire (; Slowly but surely my house is coming together, I have been trying to simplify my decorating which is easier said than done, I am getting there though. Next on my list is painting my hutch in my dining room a creamy white and I am also adding unfinished cabinets from Lowes to my laundry room for more storage, I can't wait to get started on that project, I have an 11 ft wall to work with in there and I am hoping to add wood counter tops from Ikea also, I'm so excited about it. I will be sure to keep you updated!

I painted my tv armoire, if you remember it was pine and it has been used and abused and needed a facelift, I saw that The Nester from the Nesting place had painted hers this pretty color it's called Halcyon Green (satin) from Sherwin Williams. I love it! You can see I also painted my coffee table black, I'm not so sure about this yet?? Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend (;

My kitchen and dining room update!

Well I decided to paint my lower part of my cabinets red, if you remember I only had the cabinets under my sink red the rest of them were white. It all started when I found the new lights I replaced the pendant lights over the sink and stove and also changed the one over my island, they are a rubbed bronze finish, they have cute little linen shades. I also replaced my faucet , all of these were purchased at Home Depot. I am really enjoying the dark touches in my house, small changes can make a big difference. Of course this all lead to me changing my wall color in my dining and family room, I used Homestead Resort Buff(satin finish) by Valspar, I love it, its so soft and I wasn't liking the gray, it just wasn't me but I had to give it a try anyways!

See my new little accent chair next to my hutch, it has the cutest ruffles and all of my colors in the slipcover, LOVE IT!! The chair is from Pier 1 (;

I also refinished my farm table top, I sanded the finish off and did a dark stain, I am lovin that too! I still want to replace my dining chairs or redo these but I haven't had a chance to do them yet.

I'm Still Here!!

I just wanted to say hi and let you all know I am still alive!! I have had major comp problems here and then procrastinated coming back and I'm not sure why, I guess the longer you go without blogging the easier it is to stop. I have painted my dining/family rm gray but I am ready for a change again, crazy isn't it! I have the only house that is losing square footage because the paint , LOL, that's what my husband says!! What do you think of the gray?I have been trying to find some new dining chairs, I want someof the pressed back chairs, I think thats what they are called, I used to see them all the time but now I want some and can't find any, I would like to paint them white and distress them. I hope you all don't hate me for being gone for soooooo long?? Hugs~Kelly

I've missed my blogging buddies!!

Hi everyone, time sure flies when your having fun, LOL, I really had no intentions of abandoning my blog for so long, I think the longer you stay away the easier it gets and I just wasn't sure what to say! We had a great Christmas with family and friends. We, meaning Jeff, me and friends spent New Years in the Everglades at a camp out there only accessible by airboat, I don't have pic's because I forgot my darn camera, but lets just say it's ruffing it but in a good way, the cabin has a huge generator that runs electricity to the cabin so you have all the ammenities of home, kitchen, bathroom, shower etc. we had a blast, we were there for two nights, pretty amazing that in the middle of no where they have cabins and we also went back and forth by airboat to visit other friends in another cabin, it's like having a neighborhood in the middle of the FL Everglades. So now I want to show you my new banner made out of vintage hankies, so cute isnt it, I purchased after reading about it on Cindy's ~My Romantic Home blog, she showed a pic she took while at a flea market, the lady has an etsy shop so I hopped over there and bought myself one, I just love it!

Oh and I was so excited to here that Ikea had these slipcovers on clearance for $9.00 they were originally I believe it was $299.99, they only had the three seater couch covers left but I have the loveseat too, so it's a little big on the loveseat but it works!

I moved my dining rm back into my living rm area and I thought I would take a pic of my farm table in this area, I'm enjoying it in here for now!

Oh look who/what I found lurking on the shelves at Homegoods, Rachels new book, which I had not bought yet, I couldn't get my hands on this one fast enough, and I wanted to scream with excitement!!

Well thats all for now, it sure feels good to be back, I have missed my blogging buddies, I hope everyone is having a fabulous start to their New Year!!

Some Flea Market Finds!

This is a quick post but I wanted to show ya what I found at a little flea market we went to on Sat. Look at this champaigne bucket, LOVE IT and I thought it was a good deal for $20.00, it's so heavy! I added some shredded paper and just popped one of my sweet little snowmen in it for Christmas, I just love it!

I couldn't get to this lampshade fast enough when I saw it, the lace is so pretty on it! The pic below is with it lit.............( in case your wondering $10.00 for the lampshade)

Oops you'll have to turn your head sideways for this one, sorry, I picked up these dishes for $10.00 and it included 3 platters and a sugar and creamer, it isn't a complete set but I will just mix them with others I have. Have a great week, I'm off to enjoy time with my Mom (;

Where my tree ended up!!

I don't think I have ever moved a tree around as much as I have this one, LOL, I tried really hard to make it work the way it was but there was just not enough room so I had to move everything back to it's original place and it's finally done!! My Mom and Dad will be here today and I have lots to do so I hope you enjoy the few pic's I was able to take and now I need to get busy with all the other stuff that I haven't been able to get done. I sure wish you all were here to help me decide where to put my tree, I don't have enough room, LOL, I want it in my living rm but since I moved my living rm to my dining rm I don't have enough space for my tree, I did this to make more rm for Thanksgiving dining and I really like it this way but where to put the tree! Do you think you could stop by and help me, pleeeese? I just keep standing in the middle of the rms thinking hmmmm what do I do now, move it all back the other way??

Happy December!!

Did you all forget about me?? It seems like I haven't posted forever, I have been so busy . I'm trying to catch up around here we went out of town the day after Thanksgiving so I am just now getting my Christmas decorating done, I don't even have a tree yet, I usually decorate before TG but decided to wait this year, just let me say never again!! I have moved my dining rm to my living room, I did this for TG and I like it for now, the only problem is where to put the tree??

This lovely chair, actually I bought two of them, to try out my new paint sprayer, well I needed something to try it out on right, LOL, by the way I LOVE the sprayer, it worked perfectly! The picture below is the after, shhhh don't tell but it still needs another coat so don't look to close, they came with the green velvet seat cushions which I do like but I am hoping when my Mom comes for Christmas she will make me some new slips out of linen or something, keeping my fingers crossed for that!

Oh and my dining rm table, notice its a different table, I brought my farm table up to my house from the bunkhouse, it's nice for a change, my centerpiece is a pretty sled I bought at Marshalls and I stuffed it full of my snow men. The pic below is the same as the first one but I loaded them wrong and I had the ugly chair as the first one, I couldn't do that yuk! Look What I found!

I know everyone probably already has one but I didn't and I wanted one, look at the trophy cup I found, you will never guess where I found it, Homegoods and it was on clearance for $16.00, I have seen alot of bloggers displaying them and I couldn't find any until yesterday, I think it looks vintage too. Sorry about the dark pic again, we have overcast weather here again so it's hard to get good lighting.

I have also seen this idea around and thought it was so cute, I was in a store the other day and the lady was giving old books away so I took some to try this out, I removed the old covers to reaveal the binding, tied a ribbon on and added the flower on top that's it! I hope everyone has a great week, I still haven't used my paint sprayer, I did test it on a piece of wood but it has been so windy here so I wanted to wait for a good day , it seems like it is going to work out really good, no sputtering paint out and it made a really even coat onto the wood (;

Rose Dishes and Painting!

I wanted to show you all some dishes I hung above the mirror which is above my buffet, geesh, I had put my rose dishes away and I couldn't stand it anymore, I love them, what was I thinking!! Aaahhh much better now (;I also bought myself an early Christmas present, I can't wait to try this paint sprayer out but I haven't taken it out of the box yet I'm kind of intimidated, it hooks up to our air compresser, but I have to figure out how and where I'm going to use it, LOL! A Picture Frame turned Chalk Board

I just wanted to show you this cute picture frame on a stand I picked up at Marshalls , it was hot pink so I spray painted it a cream color and then painted the cardboard piece that would go behind the picture with some chalkboard paint, I think it turned out kind of cute (; We are getting a cold front here today, yippee, but that means that it's dreary here so my walls look really dark in the pic's but I don't care bring on the cold weather, I can't wait!!

She's Here!!

Well she has arrived and I love my new buffet , isn't she pretty! I have always wanted one and back in June I went into the store and there she was but a little too pricey for me so we said our goodbyes and I moved on, then last week I went back and to my surprise she was still there waiting for me and her price had been marked to half off! Yeah! So I figured it was meant to be (: I know she is not perfect but I don't care, my only decision is to paint or not to paint?? I am enjoying her at the moment with the natural wood, what do you think?

My Pumpkin Topiary!

Well I have seen quit a few people making these pumpkin topiaries, I thought they were cute and it was something I couldn't kill so it was a perfect idea for me also I was in Michaels over the weekend and the pumpkins were 60% off sooooo here it is, I made two but I don't have them set where I want them yet, thats another post cause I have something new that hasn't been delivered to my house yet and I want to set them on either side of it. Just in case someone didn't see them elsewhere, I used a wooden dowel to keep them together, put some stickers on them and that's about it, so simple that's the kind of crafting projects I like! Oh and the urn came from Walmart . I am so excited that we finally cooled off here in S. Florida, a cold front moved through yesterday and I am enjoying the change although it doesn't last long but I will take whatever I can get (;

Just thought I would show some of these pretty beds and linens I was dreaming about tonight, the first two headboards are available on Target .com and I think they were $399.00 approx. and they have free shipping, I looked at them a couple of weeks ago so I can't remember the exact amount (; I really like the second one!

Wouldn't it also be pretty with a slipcover like this one , I am in love with this bed, everything in this pic is just perfect, I would even leave the chandelier there, I could just move my legs to the side to sleep, LOL!! The rest of the pic's below are from Bella Notte Linens.

Bye Bye Blue !!

Well I painted again and I feel like a copy cat, I hate to copy but I did! I really tried not to I swear, but after several paint samples and $40.00 later I ended up using the same color as Jennifer from The Old Painted Cottage,(you can click on the link on my sidebar) I can't help it if she is brilliant and I loved her new Cottage 8 color, whats a girl to do! So Canvas Natural from Ralph Lauren it is (; I still don't have everything back together yet but I wanted to show you my new look here, more accessorizing to do, yeah the fun part, the hard part is I really don't know what I like yet I'm still trying to figure it out, I do know that most of my pink is gone.

Ok maybe I do copy but doesnt everyone, right, I stopped by The Lettered Cottage to see what Layla(you can click in the link on my sidebar) was up to and she had a picture of a ladies house that she used for inspiration for a customer and I loved the draw pulls that she did on her buffet so I tried it on mine, what do u think? I had an old shower curtain that I was going to get rid of and I ripped it up and made the draw pulls , it's cute for a change.

Just thought I would show ya my living rm with my new rug from Shabby Chic(Target) it has the same robins egg blue in it as my hutch, which I have moved back to the living rm, my family thinks I have lost my mind, LOL! I have a funny story to tell ya, I feel famous, the other day I was in the store and this girl and I were talking and then she looked at me kind of funny and said you look so familiar?? Then she said omg Jennifer The Old Painted Cottage your house was on there, omg I loved your house, do you give house tours?? I laughed and I think my face turned red I was so flattered though, how cool is that! It's the first time it's happened to me and she also gave me her number and said if I wanted to sell anything she would be interested, I didn't ask her if she read my blog or if she just looks at Jennifers, I didn't want to burst my own bubble, LOL but Rebecca if your reading this, thanks so much you made my day, month, year!!

My New Skirt

Like my new bed skirt? I went to Kmart the other day and looked at the new Country Living products, I loved this bedskirt they had, I liked the sheets that went with it but I have to draw the line somewhere and I really don't need more sheets so I just bought the skirt. I've had the white bedding for a while now but just haven't taken any pic's of it, it's Shabby Chic bedding. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I still haven't started painting, I just for once can't figure out what color to paint!

Happy Autumn!

I have so many little things to share with you, I've been adding little bits of Autumn here and there so I walked around taking pic of everything I wanted to show you all, maybe I'm avoiding the painting but oh well it was fun anyways, LOL. I changed my fireplace a lil bit, see my new plants on there, oops I forgot I was going to tie some brown ribbon bows on them before I took the pic, oh well not redoing it now, I'll put them on later!

I bought these brown pillows at Target (9.99) and added some of my vintage broches and a flower to the front of them, I love the brown with my white couches.

P.S. I'm washing my other slip cover so thats why I zoned in on the couch, if you could see the mess behind me, LOL!

Lulu wanted to say she sure missed everyone and Happy Autumn, actually I think I interupted her nap but is that not the funniest face!!

Some new curtains I've been playing with, they are linen curtain panels from Target, I just added some old lace thingys I had laying around.

A rug I got on clearance from Target for $6.98, cute isnt it, by the way it is an outside rug but I liked it so I'm keeping it inside for now.

and last but not least I bought these because I love the labels, LOL, although I did read that they were good products to use, again they were at Target, at least it makes cleaning more fun!

I'm Back!!!

Well hello everybody, it has been way too long since my last post and I'd like to apologize for that but my Mom had to have surgery so I had to go take care of her in NC, she is doing great by the way, between that and school starting I just couldn't find the time to decorate! I was so inspired by Jennifer from the Old Painted Cottage, I couldn't wait to get home and take out my collection of white dishes and silver and redo my hutch, I moved my hutch from the living rm into my dining rm and got busy, I used things I already had but had not displayed for a long time, most of it was tucked away, I like the way it turned out and next on my list is to repaint the walls, I'm over the blue walls, it's been fun but I have had enough of the blue especially with this cabinet in here, when it was in my living rm it was up against a white brick wall so it didn't bother me so much (; Now what color to paint, that's the big question, I have a couple choices I'm looking at. Hopefully I will be back soon to show you my new paint color!

What I've Been Working On!

Hi everyone, I sure have missed you all! I haven't had much time for posting pic's but I have been visiting everyone so that I can keep caught up on what's going on out there in blogland, especially since I bought myself a new laptop, I LOOOOVVVEEE it! I wanted to share with you what I have been slowly but surely working on the last couple of weeks, if you have read my blog for a while you will remember my bunkhouse(apt) that I have on my property, well I haven't finished it yet but thought I'd show the progress, we ripped up the old molding in the dining rm and added some new molding and then I used strips of lattice placed 12" apart and topped it off with chair rail molding, I painted that all white and then above that I painted it Brown Teepee by Behr. I need to get a better pic of the molding and I just realized it's kind of hard to see.

This was before and during the process of the redo but I wanted to show you what it looked like.

This is the kitchen in the bunkhouse and I still need to paint the back splash, I really haven't done anything in here for a while but thought you might like to see what the kitchen looks like (;

One of the two corner cabinets in the kitchen, I have my collection of white dishes and stuff in these two cabinets.

You can see the molding a little better in this pic and of course my fireplace, remember it's still a work in progress so not much on the walls and not many pretties around yet....................

Oh I started adding some lace on the fronts of my china cabinet and I attached them with the metal nailheads, for some reason I just forgot the name of those thingys LOL, but you get the pic right!

Hi girls, I just wanted to pop in and say hello!! These are my pretty pink roses from the rose bush that I haven't killed yet, LOL, no I'm not the best gardener, but I think I've mentioned that before, right now these roses are the prettiest thing around here with Summer in full swing it's hard to get motivated seems like all I see is half empty glasses of koolaid and partially eaten plates of food! I told my boys that the maid quit last month but no body seems to care, I really am enjoying the Summer vacation but time seems to be passing way to fast and I really am enjoying every minute of it even the mess, I hope everyone else is having a great Summer and I will be back soon(;

I just wanted to wish all of you a happy and safe 4th of July and show you some of my holiday decorations! The first pic is my front porch..................... The little sign on the shutter says It's Good To Be Home.

This is where I moved my chalk board it sits over my island between my kitchen and dining rm, did you notice to the right, my stencils I did on the beam, they go all the way around the beam. Please dont mind my terrible scratches on my door,I'm getting ready to paint it, I had a wreath there and with boys nothing is opened or closed gently, LOL!

A Little Shelf Redo

OMG I almost forgot to take a before pic, as I started to spray it I remembered to take a pic! I bought this at Marshalls, I thought it looked like an old peice so I snatched it up thinking it would look pretty painted white, I also added some rose appliques to each side of the front the top ones were already on it. I'm still trying to get my house finished in between my kids and a billion others hanging out so back to painting!

My New Color!

I am having major comp problems here again so I am going to make this quick before it cuts me off again. I painted my dining rm light silver sage, it looks really blue though. I have to get used to it but I do like it . What do you all think do ya like it?? I am still playing around with the decor, did you notice my oval mirror over the fireplace remember it used to be gold I painted it white, I have more to show you but my house,the part you can't see in the picture, is still a mess, LOL.

The paint color is LIGHT silver sage from Restoration Hardware they also have silver sage which I don't think would look quit as blue but my son liked this one so I gave it a try(;

My Cake Stands!

I had so much fun making these cake stands, although I can't take credit for the inspiration, I was looking at http://hollydoodledesigns.com blog yesterday and saw a tutorial she did I believe in April 09 on how she made these cake stands, soooooo I thought I have to give it a try, hers came out much better, Holly has such beautiful millenery and fabric but I used what I could find, I do think they are so sweet , I made them with wooden candle sticks and the boxes that you can get at the craft store, the stand with the glitter, I cut out thick paper in a scalloped design and glued it around the edge, then just painted and glittered it like the rest. My Fake Door

I've got to tell ya the no shopping thing(the economy) is really cramping my style over here, I'm struggling to find things to blog about is anyone else feeling the same way or is it just me?? Well I don't think I have ever shown you my fake door, LOL, I know it's kind of weird but I saw a real one in a Pottery Barn catalogue and I asked Jeff if he could make me one to look like the real thing so we used left over bead board paneling and some wood and there you have it my door that is suppose to look like it closes in front of my real door or something like that, hahaha. By the way this is my entrance into my house from my garage, it opens into my kitchen. I hope everyone has a great weekend(;

My Other Kitchen Island

Well you all know that I can't leave anything in the same place for long and I don't think I have ever showed you my kitchen with the dresser island in it?? I love the dresser in here cause as you can see it is a small kitchen and I can store my cookware in the drawers so it works great for extra storage. I have it angled here so you can see it better, it's usually straight. I painted it a light pink and added the rose appliques, I want to get some towel bars to add to the side and back if it to hang some pretty dishtowels on, as a matter of fact I found some the other day at Marshall's but the registers went down and I couldn't buy them so I'll have to go back and get them. You can see I put up my red checked curtains for Summer, I thought they looked cute but I don't know how long they will last, LOL! I hope everyone has a great weekend (;

What I've been Up To!

Hi everyone I hope you all had a good holiday, I sure enjoyed my long weekend! First off I'll show you all the pretty stuff, I bought new barstools at a consignment shop, they were from Pier One and still had the tag on them, I got them both for $70.00 and they were originally 115.00 each, so I think I did pretty darn good! I also dont think my boys can break these since they're metal, LOL, I'll keep my fingers crossed you never know with boys!I put my shabby chic covers on them that I already had.

This is my son Shayne with his sweet girlfriend Jamie, they were going to her prom, don't they make a nice couple (; She is a sweetheart! (You too Shayne)

Now on to the other side, that would be the dirty muddy side of my life, bet you would have never thought you would see me on an airboat, I do wear my pink in the Everglades but it usually comes back in a lovely shade of black(just kidding) I am not a very good boat helper, if we get stuck I'm not gettin off, and as a matter of fact right before this pic was taken we were stuck in the muckiest mud I have ever seen, but we got out with alot of help!

This pic is taken on an island out in the Everglades, there is actually a cabin with a.c. and a bathroom here, we stayed here most of the day.

And admiring the family of hawks that lived in the tree we were standing under, they were not to happy with us. Because of all this fun I didn't get my pantry done, it's still a work in progress but I hope to finish it soon and show you all the pic's. Have a great week!!

Sneak Peek

Ok so this is what I've finished so far. My husband came home from work yesterday and said the doors look like piano keys, of course I wasn't to thrilled with that comment as he laughed I wanted to hit him with the paint brush, LOL! Actually he is right(but lets not tell him that) and I may just leave the two center doors with the chalk board paint and paint the two end doors with the cottage white, I'm not sure yet. I have some finishing details I want to do and then I'll show ya the rest, I hope everybody has a great Friday, I'm headed to Home Depot (;

Finally Some Inspiration!

Whew, I finally found something to redo, no I haven't repainted my whole house, I'm sure Jeff & the boys are glad about that, still sniffling & sneezing but I found something to do that wasn't quite as much work as a whole house redo, by the way I will always have the cottage style in case anyone was wondering. I am redoing my pantry doors(I won't show you the inside yet, it's to scary) but I had Jeff make me these doors for my pantry a while back and never got around to finishing them so I was thinking I would put chalkboard paint in the center of each door to write down grocery lists on and whatever else I come up with, I have some other ideas to finish them off, I'll show ya when I get them done(;

Well first it was my comp that had a virus now it's me!! Although I don't feel well as I lay on my couch I look around and feel the need for change, hmmmmm what can I do different, I can't decide on my style right now, but diffently want something different, do you all do this, as soon as I get things done, I want something different(LeAnn knows what I'm talking about), LOL, I feel the need for color, reds,yellows ya know like Cherry Hill Cottage, love her house and then I see the paired down farmhouse style with the light colors like silver sage and linen and I like that, I know they are complete opposite styles, I actually went and bought a can of Silver Sage paint and havent used it yet, I keep walking around with the paint chip in hand, I don't know maybe it's this head cold?? Now that I've rambled on about me, I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and I hope I'll be back soon with a more interesting post (; What styles do you like right now??

Lil Bit of This & That

Did ya miss me?? My comp has been giving me a fit!! So I''m back for today anyways. I wanted to show you my little cabinet I''ve been playing with on my back porch, I was visiting Heather Bullards blog and she had posted about a desk that she put on her porch for beverages, I had planned on doing the same with this but she got me inspired to finish it. I picked this desk up for nothing and I put some lemonade and fresh tea out for anyone who would like to come by and sit and chat, LOL. Oh and by the way I don''t know if I ever posted any pic''s of my table and chairs I bought at Goodwill but they came with the leopard print on the seats, I just spray painted them pink.

In one of the drawers I set one of my pretty bowls filled with sugar for your tea.......I had fun can ya tell.

Next I picked this pretty (uhoh I can't remember what it's called) tapestry?? I am not sure why I forget the name of things when I start typing, oh well, I loved the lavender background with the white roses.

I also found this clock with the same tapestry? I plan on changing the frame but I''m not sure yet what I will be putting it in but I pictured some type of antique frame, don''t ya think it will be pretty, I have never seen one made into a clock before! I bought both of these at Salvation Army.

Just A Fluffin!!

I've been fluffin in the guest bedroom....................Remember this is what I call my Grandma rm, it has alot of my Nana's , my Mom's and Jeff's Mom's momento's in it and when my Mom comes to visit this is where she stays. You may notice the shutters are cream colored in the first pic and brown in the second pic, I changed them to the cream and like them much better.

A Pretty Day!

Just thought I would pop in and say hello to everyone, it is beautiful weather here in Florida the last couple of days, so I have been busy getting my porch ready for Spring & Summer. I bought the most delicious smelling roses yesterday, when I walk out to my porch they smell sooooo good, I also added some of the birdhouses, Jeff made me stands for them out of my old porch posts. The sign I have hanging in the wreath on my front door says, Friendship is not a big thing it's a million little things, isn't that so true, thank you my friends , you all make my world a little brighter! Cute or Strange??

Okay ladies what do you think. I have seen this done before with the lamp shade forms and today I was in an antique store and saw one and thought I have that old lamp shade form at home I should try it and see how it looks, so I did, but I'm not sure if I like it or not?? I think it's kind of cute but second guessing myself, hmmmm is it just me that thinks it looks good or does it really look good?? Ya know what I mean, LOL! Two Posts ~One Day

Me again, well after I posted earlier the decorating bug hit me again, LOL, I have been searching for something and I didn't know what, to put on either side of my armoire, I wanted it to be the same on both sides and then it hit me! I have had these shutters that my Mom got at a garage sale, they were an ugly brown color soooooo I painted them and distressed them then hung them here, I also hung some old ball jars from them which I plan on putting fresh flowers in! I love it and it will be nice for Summer for flowers oh and I can't forget to mention the bird house or my hubby will be very upset with me, we just redid our front porch and he made me some birdhouse stands out of the old posts aren't they cute! Go green~recycle & reuse.

Just a Little Nesting!

I wanted to show you what I think will be my table setting for our Easter dinner, I saw this idea somewhere, sorry I can't remember where but I used a 14"wreath under my china and it looks like a birds nest to me, I thought it was cute and wanted to share it with you.

I also loved my yellow daisy's in my window, it's hard to get a good pic looking towards so much light so I hope you can see it good enough, it's simple but that's what I have been in the mood for, probably because it feels like Summer here in FL. Simple and less cluttered (believe it or not I took down most of my Easter stuff, it just felt like too much??)

Spring Has Sprung!!

I kinda feel like I'm in Spring overload!! I was just talking with René @ http://missgracieshouse.blogspot.com/ and I told her that I was trying to use less pink, then I started taking out my Easter Decor and it looks like most of my Easter stuff is pink, what's a girl to do, I am going to start putting my pink away(Ithink) after the holiday though. I love it but I have noticed the trends changing and alot more nuetral palete even more so lately or is it that I am liking the nuetral palete more and have overloaded on my fav color for too long now?? Anyhoo , we'll see but for now I hope you will enjoy some of my Easter goodies that I wanted to share with you.

I sure have missed you guys!! So sorry I have been MIA lately, my Mom was here for a visit and I was enjoying spending time with her and honestly it went by way to fast ): I miss my MOMMY already!! Today I was busy trying to visit everyone and catch up on what has been going on out here, I feel so detached from all my blogging friends! I was honored to see that Cindy mentioned ME and my Ikea couches on her famous and inspiring blog http://romantichome.blogspot.com she is going to sell her couches and will be purchasing new ones from Ikea. Gotta Love A Garage Sale!!

Hi girls, I could hardly wait to show everybody my garage sale find!! I forgot to download my before pic of it but it was black so I painted it cottage white and they had already put chalkboard paint on it so it was perfect, I just love it! By the way it also has a message board insert that goes where the chalkboard area is, I still have to recover it with material, I bought this for $10.00 can you believe it! I think it's handmade, it's made so well and heavy. I put it above my fireplace in my dining room, I could also write my menus here or special messages for birthdays or any special occasions, it should be fun addition to my dining rm, now where to put the mirror I took down, hmmmm??

I bought these oh so cute teacups at Homegoods, they have a little red on them and I've been wanting to add some more color for Spring and Summer so these will be perfect somewhere (; and the book I picked up at Marshalls, love the colors on this too!

And last but diffently not least I bought these towels that I am in love with, I think I need more, lots more, see the beautiful edging on them (just in case you can't see it good, I took a close up below) they look handmade and how sweet are the cherries hanging on there!! I hope everyone is having a good week, I need to stay home, NO MORE SHOPPING, that's what I keep telling myself but some how my car always ends up at my favorite stores, I'm taking it to the shop for work tomarrow maybe I should tell them about this problem, LOL. I'm Still Here!

Hi everyone and thanks for asking if I'm okay (; Yes I am kind of, I was going to take a little break and get some things done that I have put off but then my aol service decided I should take an even longer break than I expected! No service for days!! I was having withdrawels, LOL. I did get lots of things done like cleaning out drawers and closets then packing things up for Goodwill, my floors got a deep cleaning , laundry room cleaned up, dusting oh and lots of furniture moving! I guess you would call it an early Spring cleaning. The only casualty of all this hard work is my knee, I have injured it and can't hardly walk right now! Anyways I found these adorable sheep at Joann's craft store and thought they were so cute~ sooooo I bought some fake grass and just set them in it on my fireplace, simple I know but cute right??!! I wish I had more pic's to share with you but I am having one of those times where whatever I try to decorate I don't like it, as a matter of fact I took out all my Easter decor and started putting it up and thought I just am not ready and put it all back in the boxes and put it away, I don't know WHAT is wrong with me!! LOL, this is not how I am usually, maybe it's the knee pain?? I hope to get some inspiration soon! I have missed you all (;

I'll show you pic's when I get the bed all put together, the lady that sold it to me has the bedframe at her house so I will be picking it up sometime this week, then I can get it all together. I think that I am going to have Jeff make me a bench out of the bedframe I have in this room right now, you may remember it was a dark wood and it isn't in very good shape so I will probably paint it and add some wood appliques to it, we'll see. What do I do when bored??

Walk around my house and take random pic's to share with all of you of course!! LOL. First of all I would like to thank you all for the sweet, sweet comments you left me on my hutch, I can't tell you how much they mean to me (; I love you all from the bottom of my heart!!

The first two pic's are in my garage where you enter into my cottage.

This is our guest room in the bunkhouse, I have named it the Grandma rm because that is who stays here and I added bits and pieces of all them in this rm.

I have never shown a pic of my pink cabinet, it is for a kitchen and is originally from England, it even came with a newspaper from England still in it. I t also has a flower bin inside the door. The island in front isn't attached so you can move it around in your kitchen (: The sewing machine I have sitting on it was my Nana's. By the way it was already pink when I bought it!!

Still Playing!

Okay so here she is......... I think she may be a little overstuffed with pretties, it's still a work in progress but I thought I would show you what I have accomplished! I decided to leave the aqua for now, I kind of like the color with all my white couches, so I'm leaving it (; I have some tweaking to do but I'm happy with the end results so far, I also took a pic of the dish I made a while back, I bought the dish at goodwill and then added my broken china pieces to the lid, I also did a teapot, it was a lot of work cutting the china, I think you need really good glass cutters for this type of project (; Did you notice my feather tree with the hearts on it, I got a whole bag for a dollar at a church thrift store, they are all hand stitched. I was happy to be able to display some of my favorite teacups from my Nana's collection, I think she would be pleased. I decided to put the old knobs back on the hutch, they're porcelain and made in Japan, I was going to use wooden ones but I really like the original ones after I tried them.

The Hutch Progress and Your Opinions Needed

While I'm waiting for the paint to dry, I thought I would show you what I have gotten done so far, my only dilema is~remember the inspiration pic I showed you, well it had a cream color paint on the inside of the back of the hutch, I can't decide if I want to leave the aqua color or paint it cream, what do you girls think I should do?? I really can't decide what I like better, I thought for sure cream until I put one of my rose dishes up against the aqua and it looked so pretty, please give me your opinions to help me make up my mind(;

For those who were asking about my painting process~ I lightly sanded it then brushed on Kilz primer and then this time I used my paint sprayer to apply the top coat of aqua. After it dries good I will distress the edges with sand paper, where normal wear would be. Hope that's helpful .

My New Project

Hi everyone, this is my new project, I purchased this hutch last week and I wanted you to see the before pic of it and the pic below is how I am visioning the way I want it to look, a robins egg blue for the base and cottage white for the back of it, wish me luck, I'm also going to order some appliques to put on each of the doors. Can't you just picture my rose dishes and pitchers and maybe some rose paintings leaning up on the top of it, I am so excited, can't wait to get started so that's all for now, I have to get my painting clothes on and get busy!! My Camp Mack Weekend!!

Camp Mack in central Fl. is one of my all time favorite places to camp, it is like old Florida used to be, little has changed and when you drive down the long and winding road passing old country stores and beautiful farm land you feel like you have gone back in time! There are old oak trees covered in moss, dirt roads, fishing stories told beside the never ending fire pit, food being served at Rosies Diner and the sound of airboats going by in the canal, ahhhh, I want to turn around and go back!!

A Nice Surprise~

Some friends stopped by today, they recently sold their strawberry farm/produce store that used to be next door to our house, it's just not the same without them over there, but to my delight they brought me some homemade blackberry jam and strawberry jam!! I can't wait to have some, do you think that would be on the Jenny Craig diet?? LOL. I also wanted to show you some beautiful roses I bought at Target today, I don't know where they get them from but they are always so pretty and last forever, you may remember some of mine have lasted for three weeks and they were still beautiful! Everything Is Coming Up Roses!

Well on my new slipcover anyways! Just in case I get tired of the white slipcovers I bought this rose covered one and I plan on stocking up on some others they have but a little at a time and ya know I thought about it after I got home from Ikea and I don't remember seeing the pink slipcovers there the other day, now it's bugging me I'll have to drive back out there and see if they still have them?? My TV Cabinet/Fireplace and a Christmas Present Too!

I am sure that alot of you struggle with decorating around your tv, well for Christmas we bought each other a new flat screen tv, I am sure when Jeff said sure lets get it, he had no idea that remodeling our tv cabinet would be involved, but why would he expect anything different right, LOL. So where my huge tv use to sit in between the two cabinets, I had this bright idea of attaching my fireplace there and adding a shelf to place the tv on, I wanted it to look like built ins on either side of it. So after cutting down my fireplace and adding a new shelf and adding the new tv, now I'm not so sure I like it, oops, sorry Jeff ); What do you girls think, thumbs up or down?? I also never showed you a pic of my pink bike my Mom bought me for Christmas, I love it, and my basket that Becky from Lace and Lures gave me when we got together, goes so perfect on it.

Ikea was calling my name!!

Well I couldn't hardly wait to show you all my new couch, I went to Ikea today and purchased the bigger white slipcovered couch, I already had the loveseat but I just couldn't get it to look right, it was just to small in my room. Has anyone else seen the commercial for Ikea where the lady is running to her car screaming to her husband start the car, start the car!! I feel like her and laugh everytime I shop there, they have such good prices on there couches!! I really like the way it looks and the room feels more balanced to me now(; Notice that my fireplace is missing, it's a long story, but I will take a pic and show you what I have done with that later, I'm not so sure I like it, so I won't show a pic yet ): I also moved my buffet cabinet to my living rm for now, we'll see how long that lasts, LOL. I'm still playing around with the stuff on the walls, it just wasn't coming to me today, I have good decorating days and bad and today I think I was so excited just looking at my new white couches! What do you all think, do you like it?? Oh and please don't mind the wrinkles on the sofa's I have to steam them and I haven't done it yet.

Happy New Year to all of my sweet blogging friends! I am so sorry that it took me so long , we have been out of town Ahhhh, doesn't it feel so refreshing to take down the Christmas decor! I feel like it should be Spring now, LOL. No I will not decorate for that yet, but I moved my china cabinet to the other wall in my dining rm and moved my buffet cabinet to my living rm, I won't show that pic yet because I will be making some changes in the living rm, but I haven't done it yet (; I sold my pink chairs and will be buying something else to replace them?? I sure have missed everyone and can't wait to get back on my normal schedule tomarrow, my kids take over my comp when their home); Well, I'm off to finish my projects and visit all of you!!

A Year In Review!

I'm doing my year in review a little different. It all started when I purchased my cottage on wheels. I bought this old and ugly 60's camper with a mission to make it into a little cottage, plus I needed something else to decorate! LOL. I replaced old walls with beadboard and painted the walls white, I painted the armoire robins egg blue, my Mom made me white denim slipcovers for the cushions and new curtains, we also installed laminate floors, it was a group effort from my family and it turned out to be such a fun project! I emailed a pic of my camper to Jenniferhttp://theoldpaintedcottage.blogspot.com/ and she loved it as much as me, it just so happened that she was going to be having her Summer Garden COTM in May 08 and to my surprise she thought my camper would be perfect for it. As we began talking she asked me if I had a blog , which I didn't and to be honest I didn't even know what they really were or that this whole other decorating world existed, so she gave me a few sites to look at and recommended I start my own! So without Jennifer I would have never found all of my wonderful blog friends, Thanks Jennifer! I have enjoyed you all so much and I want to wish all of you a happy new year! My New Lampshades!

Just thought I would show you my new lampshades for my kitchen lights. I picked these up at Ikea, I thought they were so cute, the design on them is like hand sewn yarn, I don't know exactly how to describe it but they are really pretty. Of course I uploaded my pic's backwards again , I swear each time I think it uploads them the opposite way, LOL. I hope everyone has a good weekend!!(;

Our Bunkhouse

Well I don't think I have ever shown our bunkhouse or should I say our home for all my unwanted furniture, LOL. This is usually where alot of my furniture ends up when I don't want it in my house anymore. I really need to get in here and complete some unfinished projects, so for now I will just show some bits and pieces of our little bunkhouse. Oh and to my friend LeAnn, I AM on your side I just haven't posted about it yet, until now, LOL!!

My Dream Cabin In The Mountains!

I was looking through my pic's from when I went to N.C. and forgot that I never showed you all these pic's. My Mom took me to this store in downtown Murphy where she lives , It's called Moosehollow, they actually have a two story cabin inside the store, it was like walking into a real life dollhouse, I just fell in love with this cabin! Look at the canoes on the roof, this is the actual cabin inside the store.

The family room, look at that fireplace, can't you just imagine curling up in front of this with a big cup of hot chocolate and watching the snow falling outside, ahhhh!

The cute little kitchen and to the right you can see the stairs that lead up to the bedroom.

I love the color on the walls and look at the cute curtains. I already bought paint and I'm going to paint my son Jake's room like this.

I have to have one of these stoves in my dream cabin!

Now this is my cabin I could buy at Home Depot(it's actually a two story shed~but who cares right?? It is about the size of the cabin in the store and it's around $16,000.00 built on your property you just have to finish the inside!! I thought it was so cute!! Well enough dreaming for now......

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year..........

I hope everyone enjoyed spending time with family and friends! I can't believe Thanksgiving is already over and now it's time for Christmas, where does the time go. I never want the holidays to be over, this time of year is just so magical, I enjoy every minute of it. This is a view from my couch, those candies on the table are so yummy and they remind me of my Nana's house when I was little, she always had them in her candy jar. I bought the little mouse in a jar and the elephant at Homegoods, the are Season's of Cannon Fall's, I love that company. Lulu(my bulldog) loved them also and thought I bought them for her, I had to put them up higher so she wouldn't eat them!

Make sure to scroll all the way down, I added these pic's after I did my first post(: I was just rearranging my stuff and I took the snowmen off my table and put them on the buffet, much better, everyone was complaining about them on the dinner table, they looked good but they were in the way. I also wanted to show you my robins egg blue chargers I bought yesterday at Marshall's, they were on sale for $7.50, these will be my place settings for Christmas, I added some of my antique rose china to them and I love the combination. I sure have missed talking with everyone, thank you so much for all of your sweet comments and for taking the time to leave them for me, it means so much. My whole family has been sick with a terrible cold that just keeps hanging on. Also my Mom is here and we only get a little bit of time together so we try to make the most of it, usually shopping, LOL, so be patient with me, I am visiting all of your blogs, it's just that I don't have as much time right now to write, I feel like a terrible blogging friend! I took a couple of pic's the little shelf above was made by my Pop, it is in my kitchen, so I use it for storing my glass jars with sugar, tea etc. I treasure this little shelf (; Below is my cabinet in my pantry/laundry room, don't you just love the white feather wreath! I display my glass cake dishes and apothacary jars up there on top, one of the jars is filled with snow and a pinecone, I also have some faux cupcakes on my cake dishes I also have aprons on the hook ready for baking!! I'll be back soon with more.

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas..........

I just thought I would show you some of the Christmas decor I have been putting up, I always decorate early for Christmas, my sister has younger kids than me so we celebrate Christmas at her house soooo I do Thanksgiving here at my home so to get the best of both holidays I put up my Christmas decor or no one would get to see it! I put my collection of snowmen on my dining room table , see the little table cloth they are sitting on, my Mom made that for me. My pink Santa sits on my fireplace along with my RA stockings, I love them!! I will have more pic's soon. Have a good weekend everybody!!

The Rest of the Tour!!

These are my favorite pictures of my Mom's house, this is a sweet little window she has in her hallway.

I love this pink dresser she has on the landing of her stairway. Guess you know where I get my love of pink from!

A cute little place to hang winter scarves and jackets. Notice the roses on the mirror, I almost stuck this in my suitcase to bring home, but it wouldn't fit (;

See the Screen door here and the old windows, this is actually a bathroom, what a neat idea, don't ya think. (See the lace she has on the inside of the screen door, so pretty.

This is her bedroom, the fireplace was made by my husband Jeff. I slept like a baby in here it's so cozy.

Look at the closet doors, they are made from a screen by Rachel Ashwell, Target, I bought it and my Mom loved it so much I gave it to her, she had it made into her closet doors. Such a good job Mommy. She has a special touch with things, she can just throw things together so easily and it has a way of always looking so pretty.

Her cute little fireplace again, couldn't ya just curl up with a good book here.

And last but diffently not least, her new baby, well claw foot tub. I am so jealous!!LOL. I helped her put this room together while I was visiting, we picked out a chandelier and put it up and then hung her shelf and added all her girly accessories! We also put the old window up above the shelf and hung some lace over it. I love the way it turned out. Happy soaking Mom!! Thanks for all the sweet, loving and beautiful memories. I love you!!!!!!! I hope you all enjoyed the tour. I would also like to add that even though my Dad doesn't get any credit for the decorating he is our best tour guide and always finds new adventures for us, the three of us have always gone on road trips ever since I was a little girl and we still enjoy our time riding to no where and somehow always find amazing places that we never knew we were looking for and all the while my Mom and I telling him how to drive, I really don't know how he drives that car without us in it, LOL. Poor guy.

Ooooh So Pretty!!

I love, love, love this house. It is in the Creative Home magazine for Winter 08. I think it is sooooo pretty and it makes me want to change everything, but I have been looking for a new look for my bunkhouse and this is it! I like everthing about it, the whites and creams and chocolate browns. She has used leathers with damask fabric and lots of old laces, so many different textures, chandeliers and her antique lamps have such pretty handmade shades on them. I know we have seen lots of this but this one just makes me happy so I have lots of painting to do!!LOL. I hope everyone is having a good week and I got back from Jeff's reunion on Sunday and have just been trying to catch up on things here.. I will be leaving again on Sunday for a visit to my Mom and Dad's house in NC, I can't wait to see the leaves changing, never seen it before so I'm looking forward to that. Hugs~Kelly

A Perfect Day With A Sweet Friend !

Have you ever met someone and felt like you have been friends forever? Well this is exactly how I felt meeting Becky for the first time. You go through all the doubts about whether you should actually meet because you have certain expectations about a person, just knowing them from their blog, but I have to say that she and her husband Dave were just as I imagined them to be and we had such a great day . She came to my house first and thank goodness she wasn't dissapointed, then we were off for some shopping and lunch. The day ended to soon for me and I was sad to see her a Dave drive off! It actually brought a tear to my eyes, I wish we lived closer so that we could do this all the time. Dave and Becky are the sweetest people and I enjoyed every minute of our special day together, thanks so much Becky!! She also brought me a bike basket for my bike that I will get very soon, especially now that I have a great basket to go on the front of it!!

Finally Working On My Dining Room Chairs!

Oops, I put my pictures in backwards , oh well. I finally covered my chairs, I was worried about doing this because the seat cushions were not removable so I was afraid I would mess them up, but I think they turned out pretty good, I used pillow cases for the fabric. I still have to put trim around the edges but other than that they are done. WOOHOO! Please don't mind the skeleton in the background I have boys and they love him, I didn't realize I got him in the pic till right now. Enjoy your weekend!

Happy October girls! I put my Happy Halloween banner up on my china cabinet this morning and added some of my pumpkins to the top of the cabinet, I even rearrange my holiday decorations, LOL. I think this basket of pumpkins has been all over my house already! Now if we could just have some cooler weather here in Florida, that would be nice (;
